A project 365 blog- a photo every day for a year. Mixing it up a bit by tracking the postcards I receive as well!

Postcard 79
This one was received way back in March- the 31st to be exact. I have been trying to work out why my postcard numbers and postcrossing don't match- this may be one of the missing. From Russia
Day 197- Flowers
16 July 2011- We went to an auction at my dad's flower shop on Friday, before the ER visit, and bought these.
Day 196- At the hospital
15 July 2011- I went to the doctor with sore rib/lung and following a not good blood test result had to go to the ER for a CT scan to see if I had a blood clot. Just what I wanted on a Friday night. No clot and I have found out my blood pressure is close to normal (yay!). 2 years ago it was quite high, now it is just a shade higher than perfectly normal, so I fall into the ok group again.
Postcard 78 - Mt Vernon
Received 12 July 2011 from the USA. Funnily enough, I have one of these in my collection, unwritten, as I went to Mt Vernon a few years ago.
Day 192- iPad
11 July 2011- The iPad, a work tool that appears to spend most of its time being a fun toy. I would not have bought one for myself, but now I see the point.
Day 190- Doggy interactions
9 July 2011- At the West End markets- there is a soccer field where people sit and drink coffee and relax. Several people have brought their dogs to the market, and the interactions can be fun to watch.
Day 189- In the freezer
8 July 2011- Ben and Jerry's has finally arrived in Australia recently, and they had a promotional charity stunt in Brisbane. They gave away pints of ice cream in exchange for a $1 donation to charity. You could take up to 8 pints (had to pay at least a $1 per pint). Since they are about $12 per pint in the shop this was a bargain. The queue was massive, I waited for an hour and came home with 7 pints. They only had 3 flavours- Chunky Monkey, Strawberry Cheescake and Vanilla.
Day 188- Sabred bubbly
7 July 2011- We went to a wine launch night- 4 or 5 wines from a winery, including the latest release, matched with food. The last wine, served with the cheese, was a fabulous (in my opinion, Greg is not such a fan) sparkling shiraz. The owner of the restaurant has recently obtained a champagne saber, and sabred this bottle. The officers in Napoleons army used to open their champagne by slicing the cork off with a saber.
Postcard 73-Astro Boy
This card was received 5 July 2011 from Japan. Apparently the Astro Boy series was a staple on Australian tv some years ago, and most people my age can hum the theme tune. It was his "birthday" when I lived in Japan so I have some memorabilia around.
Day 186- Out at trivia
5 July 2011- I skipped yoga and we went out to trvia instead. This is Greg being patient with my iphone camera playing around.
Day 185- Dinner!
4 July 2011- A cheesy, creamy veggie bake waiting to go in the oven. The fortnightly veggie box is giving us reason to try some very veggie focused meals- this has broccoli, cauliflower and leek.
