Day 27 - More BBQ

27 January 2012 - Now that the bbq is out, it is in use. Baked potatoes, chilli onions and some lovely roast beef. yum

Day 26 - The aussie way

26 January 2012- Australia Day! Rainy, but we still managed a BBQ (lamb of course) on the front deck.

Day 25- more rain

25 January 2012- I know there are more pictures from this day, but they not to be found, so here is the one and only one I have. Rain on the ground outside work, waiting for the taxi who never came. Never calling Yellow cabs in Brisbane again.

Day 24- Light

24 January 2012- The rain has been fairly constant in Brisbane for the last week or so, and it was a particulary stormy day, and evening. We went downstairs to check that all was ok, but the lighting wasn't great, so the camping lanterns came out

Day 23- Glass

23 January 2012- A picture of the bottom of my water glass. These are some nice recycled glass glasses that we bought at Spotlight a couple years ago- sturdy, simple and different.

Day 22- Postcards

22 January 2012, 8 postcards witing to be sent. I had been neglecting the standard postcrossing process in favour of the round robins, but dove back in with these. Now I just have to wait until they arrive.

Postcard 5- Netherlands! TinTin!

Received 8 January 2012 from the Netherlands. An awesome modern version of TinTin that someone had waiting in their collection. The random and the treasured cards are something I really enjoy about postcrossing. Postcard id- NL-917734

Day 21- The morning coffee

21 January 2012- One of the souvenirs from a previous Japan trip was this ceramic coffee filter holder. Now I am no longer dependent on a noisy espresso machine, or a messy (explody) plunger or even the fantastic (but plenty of work) siphon, and espeially NOT the dreaded instant. I prefer this method for my coffee, it is a tidy way to do it too.

Day 20- Blue skies

20 January 2012- Waiting for a pick up (seems to be the story of this blog, the woes of a one car household), I took some photos of the late afternoon sky. I can't decide which one is better. What do you think?

Day 19- the foot

19 January 2012- I took a variety of photos, and this was the best of the bunch, although the only one of my foot. Left foot, including special bone issue, which is visible if one knows where to look.

Day 18- Rubber Ducky, you're the one...

18 January 2012- Some stuff sticks with you forever. Here our two pirate duckies hang out with the ordinary yellow ducky.

Day 17 - The cops

17 January 2012 - I caught up with a friend after work, and while I was waiting for Greg to pick me up, I had a little mini-drama to watch. A highway cop (the red car) pulled over a taxi that didn't have working tailights.

Day 16- Year of the dragon

16 January 2012- It's the year of the dragon. Here you see some of the dragon related stuff we acquired in Japan.

Day 15- Sunrise

15 January 2012- We spent the night at Wellington Point (after checking on the pool) and got up at the crack of dawn to take pictures of the sunrise. Which was a bit of a non-event because it was mostly obscured by clouds. Not sure I can get up that early again.

Day 14- drat

14 January 2012 - on our way down a ruralish road, in Rochedale, the car had a massive flat (big enough to be unrepairable the next day). One of the things that irks me about the current car is the lack of decent spare. All we have is a dount, which just looks bizarre. I know there is no room, but this is one of those things that is not fun, and a decent sized wheel would have made me a lot happier. pictured here, the old tyre.
