A project 365 blog- a photo every day for a year. Mixing it up a bit by tracking the postcards I receive as well!

Day 57 - drawing
26 February 2012 - We went to the Matisse drawings exhibition at GOMA today. One of the highlights was an area called the Drawing Room, where several groupings of furniture and objects had been set up for visitors to draw. The museum provided paper, pencils and drawing boards (the boards had to be given back) and there were a lot of people drawing. When we arrived there was a live model at one end, and other objects included a selection of classical statuary, fish bowls (with fish) and various vases and vessels. It was really good. This was taken at Greg was drawing the pencil jar at our cafe table- yes there was also a cafe set up in the middle.
Day 55 Surprise!
24 February 2012- It's been raining a lot recently, so tried to capture the water on the plant leaves. What I seem to have captured is two bugs sheltering on the underside of a leaf, I didn't see them when I took the photo!
Day 53- Fail
I appear not to have taken any photo on 22 February 2012. I don't know, I thought I took some.
Postcard 32- Finland
Received 12 February 2012 from Finland. This was not a usual postcrossing card, but rather a reply card- I had put my address on the card, so she sent one back! Snow covered trees in Finland!
Postcard 31 - Russia
Received 10 February 2012 from Russia. A drawing in the "runaway objects"series, entitled "Alarm Clock". The illustrator is Piotr Frolov, who I had not heard of before. Very interesting and details. Postcard id: RU-745540
Postcard 30 - Latvia
Received 10 February 2012 from Latvia. Jurmala is a seaside resort, by the Baltic sea. postcard id: LV-58671
Postcard 29 - USA
Received 8 February 2012 from Flagstaff, Arizona. I pulled out of the mailbox and recognised the area- we used to live in north-western New Mexico, and there were postcards like this around. not too much opportunity to see this dance (although I have vague memories of going to a pow-wow?!). Postcard id: US-1518069
Day 49 - Morning on the bay
18 February 2012- Up very early to get a picture of the sunrise, thwarted again by the wall of cloud. all we got was a paltry orange glos from behind the storms.
Day 47 - the morning medications
16 February 2012 - All lined up. It seems the aspirin are doing theri job, the clotting factor is better. The other two need to step their game though.
Day 46- alarm clock
15 February 2012 - The trusty alarm clock. Good thing it is there for that last moment, I forgot to take a photo, photo
Day 45- at dinner
14 February 2012- we went out to dinner, and the place was dim. This is probably the best photo of the bunch.
Day 43 baking
12 February 2012 - I bought a couple of punnets of blueberries earlier in the week and decided to use them up by making fresh blueberry muffins. Such a difference from frozen! There must have been a blueberry glut this year, they have been on special all month. This makes a nice change from the customary heart attack prices ($9.99 for 250 grams!)
Day 42 - Sew much fun
11 February 2012. We paid a visit to Reverse Garbage, to see if we could pick up some art folios cheaply (and we did) but someone, somewhere must have been clearing out the sewing stash because there were a number of old sewing machines, and some other sewing paraphanelia as well (piles of patterns from the 80s).
Postcard 28 - Germany

Postcard 26 - Russia
Received 1 February 2012 from Russia, as part of the January round robin. A very detailed piece of art called Russian Tales by Oxana Zaika. Her website is oxanazaika.com One of the things I enjoy about postcrossing are the many artists and designers I get to find out about! sender id: migalka
Postcard 25- Malaysia
Recceived 27 January 2012 as part of the January round robin. A person playing the nose flute. Yes, they really do exist! sender: Neko_o
Postcard 24 - tasmania
Received 27 January 2012 from Tasmania. Not a postcrossing card, but rather one from my Mum and step-dad. They went for a holiday in Tasmania. Based on their description, we will probably skip Tasmania and go straight for NZ again.

Received 20 January 2012 from China as part of the January round robin. It depicts red army soldiers braving the cold and dangers to climb to the summit of Jiajin Mountain. sender id: JYXZN
