Day 186- Bird

4 July 2012- Sometimes living in Australia brings about moments that are hard to believe. There were about 20 of these birds just hanging out in the trees here. Yes, the owner was encouraging them to do so by providing food, but these are wild birds! Not something you see everyday in the USA or UK. In all fairness, Australians are often amazed/gobsmacked by things like rabbits or squirrels. Squirrels don't exist here, and I don't think anyone was silly enough to try and import them.

Day 2- Kyoto Station
2 January 2012- We went to Kyoto for the day for another shrine visit (Gion) and a taste of the madness of new year sales. Kyoto station is an impressive piece of modern architecture. We are on the 9th story, looking down banks of stairs to the station area.

Postcard 152- Netherlands
Received 1 November 2011. It is a rather gorgeous photo. Very simple, but also very well composed. The card also came with a lovely JonathanSwift quote. The artist is Anni Leppala.

Day 316- Roo!
12 November 2011- We were staying at this resort, the units were right off the 18th green (which would be much more interesting if I played golf) and late in the afternoon this roo decided to pay us a visit. If you look closely at her pouch, there are some feet visible, but the joey didn't come out. This is not a zoom shot, there were no fences, I was actually this close.

Postcard 125 -USA
Received 9 September 2011 - This is a painting by Tim Wistrom, of an underwater Space Needle. After getting this postcard I went and viewed his website and I really like some of his work. Happy to receive cards like this anyday!
Edit: My blog stats tell me that this is the highest referring item on my blog- a lot of people end up here, looking for ünderwater space needle. It's an awesome picture, but why are you googling the phrase?

Day 262- The view up here
19 September 2011- I went to an information session on Sharepoint, and it was held on the twentysomething floor. I have never worked above the 8th floor in any of the buildings I have been in (and usually lower). Probably a good thing as I would be very distracted by the views. A very different perspective from that on the ground. And buildings in brisbane have very ugly rooftops

Day 201- Coffee wave
20 July 2011 - A photo of my airport coffee- This pattern must have been created by the barista- very topical as we were at the Gold Coast- A beach vacation area.

Day 126 - From my window
6 May 2011- Sometimes serendipity calls. I have only just noticed the amazing orange flowers outside my window, when a brightly coloured rosella(I think, I am not always sure of my bird identification) pays a visit. Double click to get a better view.
