Day 237- Sweet Victory

24 August 2012- Dessert at the end of a teambuilding lunch.  It was a progressive lunch with a competitive element.  We were divided into two teams of three- which turned out to be the three compliance people versus the more outgoing audit/trainer/manager.  They won most of the speed/arrival challenges, so the organiser was juuuust about to hand them victory when she asked for their alphabet scavenger list.  We had to collect one item for each letter.  They had done none! So the paperwork and detail obsessed compliance team won.

Day 170- massage room.

18 June 2012- One of the nice little extras we get at work is the fortnightly subsidised massage.  The massage lady shows up every week, and there is a fortnightly schedule.  She did think I was  a little odd in taking the photo.

Day 153- whoops!

1 June 2012- The road in front of my work is a narrow one way street. The section right in front of my work is a no parking area (denoted by the single yellow line painted on the side of the road.) Because there are three backpacker hostels in the area, parking is ok a little further down the road and parking in the area is not always available: we have a steady stream of illegal parkers. Problem is, this is a road often used by delivery trucks and not infrequently by fire engines. While there are spates of ticketing by the council, thy can't come everyday. This is what sometimes happens when a vehicle cannot, doesn't want to, spare the parker. The other side of the road has a tall fence and a steep drop to the railway lines. It was a brand new car, that now has a lot of damage! If you are travelling in Australia, be aware that the single yellow line means no parking.

Day 114- the other tenant

23 April 2012- The photo is blurry, because it is hard to capture a scurrying spider.  This guy lives in my office and goes out for a stroll on my wall in the afternoons

Day 40- window seat

9 February 2012- The view from my desk at work. I am the only one who has a window view- my boss has his back to this direction and the person who shares the office with me faces the other way. How did I luck out? By not being the squeaky wheel! I was not impressed by my original seat- far from any window and next to the kitchen, but before I could express my dissatisfaction, the two assigned to this office could not agree who had the window. So neither got it. They were installed in the main office area (although with double the desk space) and the auditor and I got the room. We proceeded to have a nice -off about who would not get the window. I lost.

Day 33 - lunch!

2 February 2012-Not all in one day! I really like these frozen meals for lunch, as they are quite easy, don't require me to go across the road to get lunch (not a pleasant tip in the summer heat), provide a healthy(ish) portion controlled lunch, and are quite tasty. They are not cheap, so when they have a sale that knocks $2.50 off the price, I buy a few. On days when I don't bring my lunch in, they are perfect.

Day 355- Tiramisu

21 December 2011- Dessert at our team Christmas function. Very nice. Probably the last photo I will publish this year (unless I work out how to do so from my phone) as I am off to Japan with Greg tomorrow morning. Looking forward to some cold weather.

Day 344- Christmas lights

10 December 2011- The big office Christmas party was held at a restaurant we have gone to for smaller team lunches in the past. I always forget to photograph this light fitting made with wine glasses. The addition of some Christmas tinsel kind of changes the look, as does the night time photo.

Day 342- how much?

8 December 2011- I have been tossing my $2 and 5 cent coins in this water bottle (the only ones that go through the neck). Even though they barely reach a tenth up the bottle, that is $74 in there.

Day 326- Boredom

22 November 2011- The road outside the once and future office (my work has been located in the CBD for the last year, we move back to the home office tomorrow.). It isn't far outside the CBD, but is placed along the railway tracks (just beyond the fence) and on a street with several backpacker hostels.

Day 221- Desk Debris

10 August 2011- Some of the random things on my desk. Last week (which is two months after this photo) a vistor to the office commented on the state of my desk. My response was that it was the result of work due to his staff (which was somewhat true) and my boss responded with "Yes, visitor, it's called work, you may not recognise it"! Regardsless, I spent a little time tidying on Friday.
