12 June 2011- Yes, for a few short weeks there was an outdoor ice skating rink in Brisbane. There was a Winter Festival, which included an ice rink (a dinky one) and an ice slide. We went, but it is was an interesting experience. The rink was quite small, and a funny L shape, with one corner a bit melty. No Zambonis (so the ice got a bit scarred) and the majority of skaters were very beginner (kids got the ice seal things to help balance) so getting into a decent skate rhythm was impossible. It did remind me how much I enjoy skating, and we will be heading to a proper rink sometime soon.
