A project 365 blog- a photo every day for a year. Mixing it up a bit by tracking the postcards I receive as well!

Day 276 - Namie
3 October 2011 - This bowl is from a small town in Japan called Namie. One of my friends in Japan lived there, and I visted a few times when I lived in Iwaki. It's an area famous for pottery (hence the bowl) and has (had?) a wild horse festival every July (hence the horse pattern). I went to the wild horse festival twice. Unfortunately, this lovely town is located close to the sea, and isn't far from Sendai. Many of its residents worked at the bug nuclear plant down the road. So it is all a bit of a no go area at the moment. The wild horse festival was the Soma festival, for those inclined to google.
